¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø researchers have received more than $3.8 million from the Australian Research Council to enhance Australia’s research capabilities and facilities in strategic areas.
Researchers will collaborate with industry to advance manufacturing, engineering and agriculture technologies and establish a facility for microbiology research.
:
- – develop a new method for processing starch, and increase understanding of its effect on starch structure, to produce environmentally sustainable materials and contribute to the growth of bioplastics industries in Australia.
- – develop a method to increase production of high-quality 2D materials called nanosheets to enhance advanced manufacturing and materials technologies, reduce waste and provide economic benefits.
- – create advanced protein-based bioinsecticides with increased potency and production yield, while offering a sustainable and environmentally friendly pest control solution.
- – improve understanding of harmful pathogens that can persist in water supplies and develop efficient water treatments to remove them, which would deliver health, environmental and economic benefits.
:
- and – establish a facility to advance microbiology research, which will employ Australia’s most advanced platforms to sort and characterise mixed microbial populations at unprecedented levels of detail and efficiency.
