¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø has ranked 45th in a global ranking system, placing fifth in the Asia-Pacific Region and number one in Queensland.

The , compiled by National Taiwan University, measure university performance based on scientific papers, research productivity and impact.

Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Peter Høj said he was pleased to see the university rise 11 places from last year, with several of ¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø’s subject rankings rising as well.

“These independent rankings confirm that ¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø is an internationally competitive university, which consistently places highly in global rankings,” he said.

“These rankings recognise our diverse areas of success, with ¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø’s Agriculture discipline being ranked 7th in the world, and the best in Australia.

“¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø’s Social Sciences also ranked number one in Australia, and 25th globally.”

Other global subject rankings include:

·  Five for Environment/Ecology        

·  10 for Civil Engineering        

·  16 for Plant and Animal Science

·  49 for Life Sciences        

·  77 for Clinical Medicine

“¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø placed 46, 52, 60 and 77 in other respected released this year,” Professor Høj said.

“The rankings vary in how each weight different indicators of performance but when viewed collectively, point to ¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø being a globally-competitive university in the world’s top 50.

 “It demonstrates why so many international and Australian students and researchers, as well as business partners, choose ¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø.”
