Explorama inspires and challenges high achievers

More than 200 gifted and talented primary school students will visit ¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø this weekend (31 March 2019) for .

The educational event run by aims to expose high achievers to potential academic aspirations.

Students from Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast would attend, said ¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø school engagement manager Sebastion Marx.

“Early career exploration is incredibly valuable for young people,” he said.

“It helps them make informed decisions when they start moving through to senior schooling.”

Jason Green from Kids College Queensland said the Explorama program was designed to develop “the primary school-aged, problem solving, creative, intellectual child”.

“Typically, students who attend Explorama have a love of learning and are highly curious and inquisitive young people who enjoy challenges and exploring their passions and interests,” Mr Green said.

“Explorama workshops are fun and exciting. The program’s aim is to provide students with the opportunity to work with other like-minded children and be guided by amazing, passionate and talented workshop leaders as they immerse themselves in a full day of critical thinking, problem solving and creativity.

“Kids College Queensland is committed to delivering the highest quality workshops, while providing students with the opportunity to explore their potential and reach for the stars.”

Mr Green said children attending Explorama could choose from 12 one-day workshops, focusing on topics like robotics, engineering, coding, the Arts, mathematics, animation, law and science.

“Students are able to become a Barrister for the day in Trial by Jury, delve into some Freaky Fun Science, join a ground breaking team of Forensic Scientists in Crime Scene Investigators, dive into the underwater world of Marine Biology and think outside the box with Fun with Maths.

“It promises to be an inspirational day filled with challenge and excitement for the most inquisitive young mind.”

Kids College Queensland runs Explorama annually with the support of ¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø Queensland and the University of the Sunshine Coast.
