¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø remains the only Australian university to have at least four subjects ranked in the top 10 worldwide in the prestigious .
¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø is now ranked fourth in the world for nursing, up from ninth last year.
Biotechnology improved two places to seventh, the University is ranked eighth in Hospitality and Tourism Management and Geography leapt 20 places to tenth.
In addition, ¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø is ranked in the top 50 worldwide in another 11 subjects, including Mining and Mineral Engineering, Water Resources, Public Health, Ecology and Psychology.
President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Høj said ¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø was the top-ranked Australian university in at least three subjects, and shared top honours in another two.
Those subjects are Biotechnology, Food Science and Technology, Ecology, Political Sciences and Sociology.
“These strong results build on the University’s move to its highest ever position in the announced last year, sitting at 54th globally,” Professor Høj said.
Results in the field of Life Sciences were strong with all subjects ranked in the top 100.
Four out of five of ¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø’s medical science subjects, more than two thirds of engineering subjects and a number of social science subjects were also in the top 100.
¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø is also ranked in the top two nationally in at least 15 subjects.
