¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø has maintained its position among the world’s top 50 universities, ranking 48th globally and number one in Queensland in the 2019 QS World University Rankings.

¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø performed in the top five per cent of more than 1000 universities placed in the global rankings that measure a university’s performance across a number of indicators including academic reputation, teaching quality and research output.

Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Aidan Byrne said this latest QS World University Rankings underscored ¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø’s formidable international standing in the world of higher education.

“This ranking is a reflection of the outstanding work of our academic, teaching and professional staff who strive to keep ¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø placed among the top global universities,” Professor Byrne said.

“¶¶Òõapp¹ÙÍø has featured strongly in the QS rankings for more than five years, which is recognition of our continued commitment to attracting and supporting the best and brightest researchers, and providing our students with a world-class education.

“Rankings systems such as QS World University Ranking are vitally important in attracting international students, who often factor in global standing when choosing a university.”

The QS World University Rankings considered more than 4700 universities from 151 countries and evaluated more than 1200 of them in detail.

QS evaluated universities according to the following six indicators: academic reputation (40%), employer reputation (10%), faculty/student ratio (20%), citations per faculty (20%), international faculty ratio (5%), international student ratio (5%).
